It is a collection of songs written by Keni Thomas that tell stories inspired by life in the military and by those who serve our nation.
"Flags of Our Fathers is a powerful reminder of those valiant dads and dads to be . . . who answered the call to serve our beloved USA in the military. It is a great touching tribute to them all by Keni Thomas." David Bancroft, USA Patriotism! founder (February 2009)
More than a gifted musician, Thomas possesses an exceptional personal story that is uniquely inspiring. He is a decorated combat veteran of the elite 75th Ranger Rgt special operations unit, receiving the bronze star for valor.
And as a country singer, his dedicated work on behalf of our veterans has been recognized by Congress and the National Defense Foundation. Thomas is also the recipient of the American Patriot Award and The Carlton Sherwood Media Award . . . and is recognized in Stars There for the Troops.
Keni Thomas' own words...
"We are Americans. We're still one nation under God and believe it or not, we all feel the same about the country we live in. We are grateful for it's opportunities. We value our freedom. We are proud of our military. We love our kids and we want what is best for them.”
Keni Thomas' Gunslinger CD was released in November 2008 and features a stellar line up of songs written or co-written by Thomas. It includes contributions from some of Nashville's finest songwriters.
Highlights include “Shreveport 2 LA” and “Not Ready 4 Love,” written by #1 hit songwriter Billy Montana (Jo Dee Messina's “Bring on the Rain,” Garth Brooks, “More than a Memory”); “Out of Nowhere,” written by Kristen Hall of Country Supergroup, “Sugarland,” and the title track, “Gunslinger,” written by Thomas.
