Apollo 11 Lands On Moon 50 Years Ago
July 20, 2019
On July 20, 1969, the Apollo 11 crew successfully completed the national goal set by President John F. Kennedy eight years prior: to perform a crewed lunar landing and return to Earth ... American astronaut Neil Armstrong became the first man to ever walk on the moon. About 20 minutes later, American astronaut Buzz Aldrin became the second person to set foot on the moon. American astronaut Michael Collins remained in the capsule orbiting the moon that safely returned the three astronauts back to earth.
