U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Joel McPherson
calls in an air strike on insurgent positions in the steep hills
in Korengal valley in Kunar province, Afghanistan, Aug. 13,
2009. McPherson, a joint terminal attack controller, is assigned
to the 4th Infantry Division's Company B, 2nd Battalion, 12th
Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team. International
