U.S. Marine Corps Master Sgt. Tommy Moye, a native of Quincy, Fla. and 1991 graduate of James A. Shanks High School, receives the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal Aug. 6, 2014. Moye served as a 4th Marine Corps District training team member at the Defense Distribution Center Susquehanna in New Cumberland, Pa. As a training team member, he was responsible for monitoring and inspecting Recruiting Stations and Recruiting Sub-Stations across the district to ensure that systematic recruiting is a constant practice. Moye executed Permanent Change of Station orders to RS Raleigh and will now become the RI for RS Raleigh to ensure the recruiters of RS Raleigh recruit and enlist the most eligible for the U.S. Marine Corps. USA Patriotism! founder David Bancroft shakes hand with a Nashville police officer on July 2, 2014 ... and thanks him for his military service upon learning that the officer is a Marine veteran ... with service in the Presidential honor guard and was stationed in the Pentagon when the terrorists flew the passenger jet into it on September 11, 2001 ... with the resulting injuries ending the wounded warrior's Marine Corps career. PEARL HARBOR (Aug. 14, 2014) Traditional Hawaiian dancers greet the crew of the guided-missile destroyer USS Preble (DDG 88) upon the ship's arrival at its new homeport at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. Preble replaced the guided-missile frigate USS Reuben James (FFG 57), which was decommissioned July 18, 2013.
