The Free Throws For Heroes event in Barrington, IL on June 8, 2011 achieved its goal to raise money for the American Hero Music Festival on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 and The Fallen Heroes scholarship fund.
And it all was dependent on how many free throws one-time (many years ago) high school basketball star and now entertainer, Joe Cantafio . . . could make in 100 attempts . . . Well, this true patriot met the challenge with nerves of steel by sinking 93 free throws including the first 35 in a row! A remarkable free throw shooting performance at any level of play and age.
Congressman Joe Walsh; Chicago NBC 5 anchor, Jeff Goldblatt; USA Patriotism! founder, David Bancroft; parents of fallen troops; Marines; Soldiers; and, other officials joined many fellow patriots to witness this noble, patriotic effort by Joe Cantafio, who did so in association with the nonprofit organization, The Charity Stripe.
USA Patriotism! Mission Foster better awareness and display of love and pride of America by her citizens along with developing a better understanding and friendlier attitude about the USA from citizens of other countries.
