When our forefathers debated what to do about British tyranny, within their ranks were those who for peace would have chosen the chains of slavery were it not for those brave men who stood alone and gave courage to the weak. So it is today in this great land where freedom still rings strong, there resides within our borders those timid souls who never risk to strive for great accomplishment and who sit on the side lines criticizing those that do. Men and women who take for granted the rights and freedoms we enjoy and who seek to ride the coat tails of the brave that they might share in benefits they never would have fought for.
The American musket and bayonet have changed dramatically, but not the men and women who weld them whose courage and steel have stood the in the gap defending our nation. The weak and the cowardly may still be in our ranks and it is our duty to defend them all for so is the cost of Freedom. And despite the noise of so many timid souls who seek to bring disgrace and shame by their awkward opinions against this nation who grants them the right to defame her; I can still hear the courage and the voices of Americas brave men and women who like their founding fathers have pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to keep us free.
All heroes like Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, John Hancock, Paul Revere, James Madison, John Adams, Nathan Hale, Israel Putnam... the list goes on and on to this day. Though the names and faces of our heroes who fill the ranks of our armed forces today have changed their sacrifice and their love and passion for God and country remains as strong now as it did when our forefathers first penned and signed The Declaration of Independence.
To say that President Bush is self-serving and without compassion, and to equate Vietnam with Iraq is an opinion born out of ignorance. Millions of Iraqi men, women, and children, for the first time in history have a future without the oppressive rule of a tyrant. When providence bestowed upon this nation the Freedom we now enjoy it was not for us alone, but it was meant to be a beacon of hope to all the oppressed people of the world. President Bush will go down in history as the leader who restored the sacred honor and integrity of the American people and gave hope to countless victims of tyranny who only dream of the freedoms the blood of our loved ones have won. May God continue to bless America and may Americans always seek to bless God the strength of our republic. |
