A lot Like President Lincoln
A boy of no great wealth or means
Has proven the reality of freedom
As he rises from obscurity to great esteem
He was so blessed because all his life
He acknowledged our Saviour and His Grace
And never fell, except at the foot of The Cross
By doing things, that would cause one to loose face
I sit in tears of honor
As the caisson goes rolling by
Knowing Beyond The Sunset
He now resides in a Heaven, beyond earthly skies
The Flag at half mast reminds me
The half has never been told
Of the true story of, Our Saviour
Or the deeds Reagan's Legacy holds
As this obviously Stately Lady
Follows him still, having never left his side
As there are Drums on earth and planes above
Which Peacefully, over them glide
Oh America, how fortunate our Nation has to be
To have been blessed with this man of God as president
Willing to pay the price
That all men might once be free
I hear music and salutes of praise
While Dignitaries stand in awe
As Senators and Congress finally acknowledge
His extreme value, to us ALL
An Honor Guard will attempt to raise him
With Dignity and Grace
But no human hands, can lift him high enough
To His rightful resting place
Thousands and Thousands of people
Have come in respect and praise
As solemnly they wait their chance
To give last respect, in these final days
Oh God our prayer and hearts longing
Is one day the world truly sees
The real value it is as a Nation to have been allowed
Under God as: "The Land Of The Brave and Free"
And one more pray we offer up
For all humanity
That our entire universe
Lives in peace, through the Grace of THEE
And for Nancy and her family
It will today bring comfort to each one
To know it was their Husband and Father
Which helped to see God's Will, begun
And so once again I scribe the words
Found in: "The Blue, White, and Red"
Because such words, are never too often heard
And never too often said:
"AMERICA, AMERICA, wake up rejoice and sing
Hold your Banner High through the power of your King,
And surely the world will see, you were willing to pay the cost
That GOD SHED HIS GRACE ON THEE, and there's
POWER IN THE CROSS" |
