Looking for Solace country as flag
Looking for solace
a knight of the world
... a champion of right
tired by war... this valiant knight
He laid his armor aside
and slept in a peaceful glen
and dreamed that he had died
Woe... upon awakening...
it was not for himself
but for friends he so cried
The heart is ever true
and it's blood is red
Tears are clear and it is so
regrets of life may follow
when one is dead
... loss of fellowship may be
the only fear to dread
when all is done and said...
not to lie in a grave alone
with only memories to atone
across eternities miles
devoid of old friends smiles...

About Author... Faye Sizemore makes her home in the beautiful foothills of South Carolina with Grant, the love of her life, as well as three dogs, two cats, two parakeets and four nanny goats. Grant is a Vietnam Veteran having served with the US Marines in 1968-69 and is, of course, Faye's muse. Faye is deeply interested in Veterans' Affairs and Veterans' Causes. She is very proud of Grant and her poetry is an off-shoot of that pride.
