Memorial Day country as flag
Eleven rows of three
Around two and a half miles
Casing a gallon of milk
That only one can drink

This is Memorial Day

All night placing flags
At graves in a cemetery
For those who served
To keeping us free

This is Memorial Day

An annual trip
To the graves
Of those friends
Who did not come home

This is Memorial Day

A President lays a wreath
On a monument
To those who served
So he can be free

This is Memorial Day

In a cemetery alone
Lay a rose beside a stone
With the name of a sister
Who died too young

This is Memorial Day.

Standing at the top of the hole
Where once the twin sisters stood
A tear rolls down my cheek
Leave a purple ribbon behind

This is Memorial Day

She stands silently
As the flag if folded
Thirty-five years late
He is now home

This is Memorial Day
