I remember clear as day
All the words we did not have to say
The look in your eyes said I am scared too
But do not worry I am coming back to you
With one last kiss, a hug, and I love you too
I drove away in tears already missing you
Waiting for that call to say I made it alright
Kept worrying and sleepless at night
Time has gone fast like you said it would
So I try to stay busy like I should
But still I miss you the most at night
And try to remember why your there to fight
For the future of our children is why you are there
What greater sacrifice to show how you care
So when the days seem long and nights too you see
I just stop and remind myself your one day closer to me
So I will keep you in my thoughts, my heart and my prayers
And will look forward to all the memories we will soon share
So I will try to cry less and be a little bolder
