The Next Great Generation country as flag
They call us the Next Great Generation
Because a few have stepped forward
They have done what was needed
Under difficult circumstances
Placing their lives in harm's way

Are we really the next Great Generation?
While some do the hard work,
Others at home complain.
We sent too many or too few
Too many casualties for the good.

Those they call the Great Generation
Had the nation firmly behind them
They lost more members
But nobody complained
All knew their cause.

One must wonder will they
How they will be greeted
When they come home...
Honored like the Great Generation.
Spit on like their Grandfathers?
Forgotten like their Fathers?
