No Guarantees... My Friends |
 |
|
I walked alone
toward the spirit of
Arlington! ... 1999.
The flame
and the graves rolling
ever
onward.
The dead President that I protected
one day long ago.
... one damn day before he
died.
The Vietnam that tore my heart
apart
and cries within my soul.
... and the Nurses who lost
themselves to love,
and our Brothers gone
to the horror of War!
... and then I turned
toward the Vets of Korea
... silent
frozen faces.
... another War!
We live and we die
in a land that is free.
We inherited the truth
of Liberty! |
