								| I Can't And Won't Forget That War! | | |
					| That awful war, now long ago... Still clings to me
					both heart and soul.

 I can't forget those fateful
					days...
When "Nam" fell quickly to the NVAs!

 I
cried with anger, and burned with rage...
 Why did we
					leave and set that stage?

I felt unclean and full of
					guilt...
What kind of ending had we built?

 We
					didn't lose that awful war...
 They pulled us out and
					closed the door!

I gave four years; my best I'd
					say...
And then was told to turn away!

 There were
					no cheers or welcome back...
 Just great indifference and
					some attack!

Even now, I bow my head...
 When I
think of all those faithful dead!

 They were so young
					and fancy free...
And died for what...please answer me?

Though time has passed, the thoughts remain...
 Why
were we judged and all to blame?

 We did our duty; and
					served with pride...
But no one cared or even tried!

I've asked these questions through the years...
Filled with anger and eyes of tears!

 I served my
					country and did my best...
But still I'm guilty like all
					the rest!

So for years and years I cried inside...
For all the missing and those who died!

 They were my
					brothers and sisters too...
Who gave their all... for the
					red, white, and blue!

They say time heals the hurting
					soul...
But will I ever let this go?
