Trek in the Night country as flag
Sweat, mosquitoes and mud...
no end to this feverish crud
On we ramble... enemy behind and ahead
main objective... not to end up dead
I saw some blood on the trail behind
whose was it... it was just the red kind
... Tomorrow it may well be mine
We were walking on hallowed ground
... living on borrowed time
Does anyone one really know why
the interest on this loan is so damn high
What can be our aim...
is body count the only gain
Trapped here... with still no way to win
each night... I hump Vietnam again

About Author... Faye Sizemore makes her home in the beautiful foothills of South Carolina with Grant, the love of her life, as well as three dogs, two cats, two parakeets and four nanny goats. Grant is a Vietnam Veteran having served with the US Marines in 1968-69 and is, of course, Faye's muse. Faye is deeply interested in Veterans' Affairs and Veterans' Causes. She is very proud of Grant and her poetry is an off-shoot of that pride.
