June 10, 2022 - The U.S. Coast
Guard Tall Ship Barque Eagle transits the Galveston Channel
towards Pier 21 in Galveston, Texas. Homeported at the Coast
Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut, the Eagle is used
as a training platform for future Coast Guard officers and

Built in Germany in 1936 and
re-commissioned by the United States at the close of World
War II ... the 295-foot Barque Eagle is the flagship of the
U.S. Coast Guard. She serves as a training vessel for cadets
at the Coast Guard Academy and candidates from the Officer
Candidate School.
The Eagle is the largest active
tall ship flying the Stars and Stripes ... and one of only
two commissioned sailing vessels along with the USS
Constitution.
