For over a century and a half, the South Dakota
National Guard has a long and proud tradition of service to their
communities and country. It’s a story of Citizen-Soldiers ... beginning
with some of the first settlers of the Dakota Territory and continued by
generations of men and women who volunteered to provide for the common
defense of their state and nation.
