Army Teams At 2018 International Sniper Competition
U.S. Army Sgt. Clinton Scanlon and Sgt. William Shealey,
assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st
Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade
Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, compete in the 2018
International Sniper Competition on Fort Benning, Georgia.
The week-long competition tested teams from 10 different
countries on a myriad of challenges that engaged all aspects
of being a sniper.
Domestic teams represented the
Active Army, National Guard, Army Reserves, Coast Guard,
Marine Corps, Navy, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Ultimately, the 75th Ranger Regiment team took first place,
with the 82nd Abn. Div. team finishing fourth in this year’s
competition.
