June 5, 2020 -
U.S. Soldiers from 3rd Infantry Division conduct a litter carry
exercise at the Ziemsko Airfield in Poland. The training is part of Exercise
Allied Spirit (EAS), a DEFENDER-Europe 20 (DE20) linked exercise at Drawsko
Pomorskie Training Area, Poland.
Approximately 6,000 U.S. and Polish
Soldiers were involved part in EAS/DE20 that tests a division-sized unit's
ability to integrate with alliance
capabilities, and establish a common intelligence operation picture
involving a variety of individual exercises.
EAS/DE20, modified in response to COVID-19, operates in accordance
with the guidance directed by U.S. Department of Defense and host
nations. All U.S. Soldiers and civilians involved in the exercise
completed a 14-day quarantine and were tested for COVID-19 upon
arrival with additional health screenings if necessary.
