A riveting aerial view from a U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute
team member while filming several fellow members conducting high
speed canopy maneuvers during aerial training over
Laurinburg- Maxton Airport, North Carolina.
---------------------
The
U.S. Army Golden Knights are more than just a parachute team.
The team is composed of approximately 95 men and women, which includes four parachute units, an aviation unit and a headquarters. The demonstration teams, which use five dedicated aircraft, perform at more than 100 events per year.
While you see the parachute open, there are teams of Soldiers that
work to make that happen. From the different parachute teams to the
aircraft pilots and the behind the scenes people that handle the
logistics of every jump, this unit is made up of all kinds of
professionals.
The tandem section is known for taking Soldiers, celebrities and heads of state on jumps, and the competition section focuses on winning national and international skydiving events.
