The 12th Air Force - Air Forces
Southern (AFSOUTH) subordinate
commands operate more than 360 combat aircraft with more than 20,300
uniformed and civilian Airmen. The command is also responsible for
the operational readiness of 14 Twelfth Air Force-gained wings and
other units of the Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard. These
units include more than 220 aircraft and 18,900 Total Force Airmen.

As part of Air Combat Command,
12th Air Force (AFSOUTH) organizes, trains and equips Airmen
under its command for worldwide deployment.
12th Air Force also serves as the air
and space component to U.S. Southern Command, working with
partner nations in the region in order to support operations in
Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.
