A U.S. B-52H Stratofortress assigned to the 69th Bomb Squadron at RAF
Fairford, England, conducts flight operations over the Arctic Ocean and is
intercepted by two Canadian Air Force CF-18s. The B-52 was flown from England to
integrate with North American Allies in order to strengthen interoperability
between the Bomb Squadron and other Allied assets in association with
Operation Noble Defender 2022 (OND22).
Operation Noble Defender is a series
of NORAD operations that
validates the command’s capability to defend Canada and the United
States against threats from every avenue of approach and demonstrate
the ability to integrate with other defense and security partners
for a holistic defense of North America.
