U.S. Marines of Gun 5, Mike Battery, 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment
(Reinforced), Marine Rotational Force-Darwin conduct live-fire using an
M777A2 Howitzer during Exercise Koolendong at Bradshaw Field Training Area,
NT, Australia. The Battery conducted the live-fire mission to
provide indirect fire support to troops seizing an objective for the
exercise.
Exercises like Koolendong validate MRF-D’s and the Australian
Defence Force’s ability to conduct expeditionary command and control
operations, demonstrating the shared commitment to being
ready to respond to a crisis or contingency in the
Indo-Pacific region.
