December 9, 2020 - U.S. Marines with
3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, conduct a
battalion-sized air assault during exercise Steel
Knight/Dawn Blitz (SK/DB) 21 starting with an aerial
debarking from Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex
(LHD-2) for the assault at Chocolate Mountain Aerial Gunnery
Range, California.
Exercise SK/DB 21 provides effective
and intense training in an expeditionary environment to
ensure 1st Marine Division remains lethal, combat-ready,
interoperable, and deployable on short notice.
