The larger part of the memorial consists of a four sided rectangular pillar made of highly polished gray marble or granite. This pillar has the emblems of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force on each of the four sides. At the bottom on each of the four sides is the POW/MIA emblem with the inscription..."WE HONOR THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR BEST".
The second part of the memorial is a circular cement pillar topped by an eternal flame and a long rectangular bronze plaque with dedication on the front of the memorial.
