I wrote "USO - There For The Troops" and created the associated video to show my deep appreciation for what the USO and its patriot volunteers have done since its start in 1941 for America's brave, honorable troops . . . wherever they are serving including in harms' way . . . with a special salute to Bob Hope and his fellow celebrities who were there with him and the stars who continue to follow this great American patriot's noble footsteps. (Martha Raye deserves similar praise for her tireless dedication to entertain and interact with the troops.)
Moreover, the USO does so much more for the troops and veterans beyond entertaining them, including providing deployed troops the ability to video conference with loved ones; having USO centers at home and abroad; and, assisting wounded warriors and disabled veterans.
Personally ... I am very thankful to the USO ... for its efforts to help reintegrate returning troops back to civilian life after World War II ... as my parents met at a 'USO Social' in Toledo, Ohio in 1946. My mother was a hostess and dance volunteer ... My father asked her to danced ... She said yes ... So, I would not be here today along with my four siblings, our children, and our grandchildren ... and family ones yet to be born ... without the USO in 1946.
The USO is not only there for the troops in all that it does for them ... the same goes for their loved ones including chance encounters ... that even lead to marriage and family!
One more thing... My mother's twin brother served in the Army during WWII and was killed in Normandy a few weeks after D-Day. It was a major reason for her being a USO volunteer.

USO - There For The Troops
Throughout its noble history the USO has been there for America's brave, honorable ones who answered our beloved country's call on behalf of us all, standing proudly tall defending the home of the brave, and keeping the USA the land of the free with oh so many in harm's way.
The USO has gone and continues to go with patriotic volunteer entertainers from legends to new star faces bringing enjoyable reprieve to our troops near and far away, with a message of appreciation, respect, and support for their valiant duty to country!
The USO truly exemplifies love and pride of America, as does all the involved celebrity patriots with a special salute to those being there whenever asked like... Bob Hope, Wayne Newton, Martha Raye, Ann-Margret, Gary Sinise, and Toby Keith.
Thanks for the memories that you brought to every American troop!
