McGuire Twin Sisters Make Leap To Naval Service

August 12, 2026 More than 54,000 sets of twins are born in the United States each year ... However, there are no statistics on how many sets of twins join the military each year.
For twin sisters Camryn and Rylie McGuire, no statistic is stopping them from pursuing a career in the Navy.

Going into their senior at Lexington High School, the sisters were uncertain of what they wanted to pursue in their future. Camryn took the ASVAB and made an appointment to speak with a Navy recruiter.
“At first I didn’t know what I wanted to do,” said Camryn. “After meeting with the recruiter, I decided that I wanted to enlist.”
Meanwhile, Rylie had always had aspirations of joining the military and the Navy had the career pathways she was looking for.
“I’ve always wanted to join the military,” said Rylie. “ When the Navy reached out, they had some of the programs I wanted while in the military.”
The sisters are headed to bootcamp this August. Their recruiter, Damage Controlman 2nd Class Caleb Jamieson assigned to Navy Recruiting Station Mansfield, Ohio, said this is not just his first sisters, let alone twins he’s helped enlist in the Navy.
“I’ve been recruiting for just under a year,” said Jamieson. “I chose recruiting duty to be able to work in my hometown and be able to help others achieve the experiences I’ve had in serving in the Navy.”
After bootcamp is where the sister’s career paths will spilt, Camryn will be headed into the avionics field, while Rylie will be learning the advanced electronics computer field.
One thing is for certain; both are excited for the adventure that awaits them in their naval career.
As the McGuire twins set off for Great Lakes, Illinois, Jamieson will continue his recruiting duties in Mansfield, speaking to high school and college students alike, attending career fairs and talking about his service in the Navy.
“What I love most about my job is being able to change people’s lives,” Jamieson said. “I’m able to introduce them to opportunities that they may never considered before.”
