Lyrics

It was a decade ago, we watched the devastation
As it all unfolded, for us to see
And out of the skies
The attack upon this nation
In New York, Pennsylvania and DC
And in our time, we still grieve with the pain
Our safety was gone, it was so hatefully insane

It was a decade ago
In September, on the 11th day

There are still so many unwritten stories
Of the families, the friends, the loss
And when the towers fell, it was our fireman's hell
How many could be saved,
We prayed, we cried, So many people died
We felt lost inside
That still seems like yesterday

A decade ago
In September, on the 11th day

There are monuments to the fallen
In Pennsylvania and DC
And at zero ground
Still pieces are found
Of memories never set free
And the vision of that time, will never leave
It was September, on the 11th day

A decade ago,
Still seems like yesterday
Just like yesterday
