Marines Conduct Immediate Action February 11, 2024 January 30, 2024 - U.S. Marines with Battalion Landing Team 1/1, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, simulate an immediate action drill during a tactical recovery of aircraft and personnel rehearsal aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA6), in the Philippine Sea. Immediate action drills allow the Marines an opportunity to check their rifles before a mission to ensure they are in full working order. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
