Stunning View Of Cassidy Arch August 17, 2026
A stunning view of Cassidy Arch, a large natural Wingate Sandstone arch, located 400 feet above the Grand Wash in Capitol Reef National Park, Utah. Named after the outlaw Butch Cassidy, who reportedly used the local canyons as a hideout, the formation sits high on the cliffside and is unique because visitors can actually walk across the top of it using the strenuous Cassidy Arch Trail. Located in south-central Utah in the heart of red rock country, Capitol Reef National Park is a hidden treasure filled with cliffs, canyons, domes, and bridges in the Waterpocket Fold, a geologic monocline (a wrinkle on the earth) extending almost 100 miles.
